CEDAROCK HISTORICAL FARM 4242 R. Visitors will see firsthand what life was like on a farm in North Carolina during the late 19th century. Buildings have been restored to their original uses. HAW RIVER HISTORICAL MUSEUM 201 Main Street, Haw River, 336-380-9611 The museum is a salute to the life and the people of an American small town. Haw River was founded in 1745. It was once known as the “Corduroy Capital of the World” but that’s not its only claim to fame. The town was home to many influential people, including three North Carolina governors and Charlie Poole, one of the originators of old time country music. Artifacts from three centuries and a large collection of photographs from the last 130 years celebrate the history of Haw River. Free.
