Department Initiatives
Community Events FWPD hosted and attended multiple community events throughout Fort Worth during the past quarter. FWPD partnered with community leaders, businesses, and local schools to provide residents an opportunity to gather safely and meet one another. Events included first day of school for students, community movie night, and visiting with local youth organizations.

Spanish Citizens Police Academy Graduation Congratulations to the department ’ s Spanish Citizens Police Academy participants that graduated on July 7. Thirty - seven participants took part in the program, which is an eight - week course that covers a variety of law enforcement subjects. The informative program provides participants an opportunity to learn about the different ways FWPD operates from training to criminal investigations. Fort Worth Community Monthly Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training Fort Worth CERT conducted its monthly training meeting on September 23. Members of CERT gathered to be trained on how to send out strike teams to assess damage, set up triage, treat the injured and report by radio to command. The training followed the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
