June marks the start of summer routines. The days stretch out, the school year winds down, and the pace of life starts to shift. As a kid, I loved nothing more than the thought of running out of St. Catharine School and knowing the sun would still be up for hours and soon it would be summer break. In Spring Lake, June is a time when beach chairs come out of storage, porches start filling up again, and familiar faces return for the season. It feels like both an ending and a beginning. This issue reflects that sense of transition. Our cover story, Roots & Wings, into the next chapter with equal parts excitement and uncertainty, carrying the values and memories of our community with them. As our own daughter and her friends transition from H.W. Mountz Elementary to high school, we are incredibly grateful for the teachers, celebrates the graduating class of 2025.
