As this is the inaugural edition of our newsletter, we would like to explain why you are receiving this and what you can expect from future editions. The aim of this publication is to provide an educational, informative, and insightful resource and to foster the spirit of collaboration within our dental community. Every month, we’ll cover industry news, trends, innovative procedures, and educational opportunities. We are always striving to learn, improve, and innovate to the best of our ability. By supporting and elevating other dental professionals, we can all stay at the forefront of our industry and provide the best care possible for our patients. Who We Are Jacksonville Dental Specialists is a collaborative practice operated by two specialists with complementary skill sets and expertise. First is Dr. Richard Aguila, DDS, Board-Certified Periodontist and Diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology. He grew up in West Virginia, graduated summa cum laude from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry. Dr. Aguila practiced dentistry in the Navy before continuing his education and receiving specialty training in periodontics and dental implant surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Our other specialist, Dr. Matthew Nawrocki, DMD, MS, earned his Bachelor of Science in chemistry and Master’s in Dental Science from the University of Florida. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. He completed a yearlong fellowship, followed by a three-year residency, in Prosthodontics at the University of Florida and holds a Specialist Certificate in Prosthodontics. Naturally, the two began to grow and improve the practice, and today, Jacksonville Dental Specialists is a leading provider of Full Arch Dentistry. We specialize in comprehensive restorations, restoring full function, and aesthetic beauty. Lauded Industry Speakers We hold six meetings per year, each featuring keynote speakers with unique and interesting perspectives on our field. At our last seminar, we heard from Dr. Markus Blatz, DMD, professor of Restorative Dentistry, chairman of the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences, and assistant dean for Digital Innovation and Professional Development at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Blatz founded the Penn Dental Medicine CAD/CAM Ceramic Center, which researches emerging technology and novel ceramic materials to provide the greatest esthetic care. Other past speakers include Prosthodonists Dr. Howard Chasolen, Dr. Safa Tahmasebi, and Dr. Julian Conjeo; and Periodontists Dr. Samuel Low, Dr. Matthew Fien, and the inspiring Dr. Anissa Holmes. We are PACE Approved and registered with CE Broker to facilitate your CE directly to the Florida Board of Dentistry. Learn With Us Our events also provide a valuable opportunity to network and collaborate with others in the dental community. The novel lessons and fascinating new perspectives gleaned from our bimonthly events can benefit both emerging and established dentists alike. Don’t keep your patients waiting; prompt service and quick turnaround can help your patients feel that you are paying attention to them and that their time matters. Follow up with your patients after their procedures to inquire about their comfort and satisfaction with your care. Lastly, provide a welcoming environment that is positive and driven by kindness and reassurance, in order to foster patient loyalty and satisfaction.

2nd Annual Molar Cup Golf Tournament GOLF & NETWORKING
To increase cooperation and collaboration in our community and bring the brightest smiles in Florida all to one place, we are hosting the Second Annual Molar Cup Golf Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a golf event for dentists, by dentists, featuring a premier course and some wonderful networking opportunities. The event will be held at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, home of the PGA Tour headquarters and The Players Championship. This year we will be teeing off on the Dye’s Valley course. If you are interested, full registration for the event is $750. Early Registration is $500 and ends Friday, Nov. 1, 2024. What Registration Includes Your registration includes all the ingredients necessary for a wonderful time. Start off by checking in your clubs and picking up your golf cart. Grab-n-go breakfast and coffee will energize your morning and your practice swing. Don’t stress — your cart fees, green fees, and the cost of forecaddies, forecaddie gratuities, and practice balls are all included! Pick up your lunch at the ULTRA Turn (Halfway House) on the green via a golf cart. Open bar golf cart service for all 18 holes! After a fun-filled day of golf, there will be an award luncheon buffet with complimentary open bar. Awards include: Closest to the Pin Hole 5, Longest Drive Hole 7, Closest to the Water Hole 6, and of course … the Molar Cup Champion!
