STUDENT PERSPECTIVE

TRANSITION 2025

As we begin the term, I thought that I would outline more details about our Transition Program for 2025. The aim of the program is to ensure that every child feels more confident about next year by removing some of the unknowns before the end of this year! Our on - going Transition program includes our Year 5&6 students spending time on our Secondary Campus throughout the year during 5/6 Sport, Special Events and use of the amazing facilities our Secondary Campus offers. This is on top of the Statewide Year 6 Transition Day that happens throughout the state on Tuesday 10th December for all students in Year 7, 2025. This is a day where students will experience different subjects and teaching styles and moving to different areas of the school for lessons as they start to get a feel for what next year might have in stall! Our 2025 Prep Transition Program also continues following on from our very successful “ Experience The Lakes ” sessions. These commence on Wednesday 6th November, continue over 4 weeks and will be run by our Prep 2025 team. There will also be parent sessions running on the 6th and 13th of November starting at 9.30am for any parents who would like to hear more about our programs here at The Lakes. Thank you to Clare for all the hard work she has done to visit our local Kindergartens and speaking with families about this important milestone in our little people ’ s lives.

YEAR 2 REFLECTION YEAR 2 SRC

This week, we ’ re really excited to share our thoughts about the new basketball courts that have just opened on our Primary Campus! As Year 2 students, we love playing basketball during recess and lunch, and these new courts make it even more fun. First, the courts are bright and colourful, which makes them super awesome. We ’ ve already noticed more of our friends wanting to play basketball, and it ’ s great to see everyone having fun together. The new space means we have more room to practice our shots and play games without bumping into each other. The markings on the courts help us understand where to shoot and where to stand during games. It feels like we ’ re real basketball players! Along with the new courts, we ’ re really excited that Zooper Dooper Fridays are starting back up! On the first Friday, SRC students raised over $250! The money we raise helps us plan fun activities and projects. Overall, we ’ re really thankful for the new basketball courts and the return of Zooper Dooper Fridays. We can ’ t wait to make more amazing memories playing with my friends.

TERM 4 PRIMARY ASSEMBLY TIME

Our Friday assemblies will continue to be held in the last session (from 2:30pm) in our gym. These will run fortnightly across even weeks of the term. As a school, we are looking for feedback from our parent community as to the best time for our Primary Assemblies to be held with the possibility that from 2025, these may be held on Monday mornings. Please come and speak with me and share your thoughts. Please note, that l will be taking some Long Service Leave over the next few weeks. For any issues or concerns, please speak with Mr Zull, Mr McLean or Ms Sutton in my absence. I look forward to connecting back with you when I return to finish off an exceptional year. Thank you to everyone who has supported the school ’ s growth and improvement so far this year! We look forward to the continued support for the rest of the year.

YEAR 12 REFLECTION YEAR 12 STUDENTS

During Term 4 the year 12 cohort had their final weeks of classes where we have been completing course work and preparing for our final exams. We had Spirit Week where we had a different theme for each day including Pyjama Day, Anything but a backpack and come dressed as the first letter of your name. We are looking forward to our final day of Secondary school Celebration Day where we will have a breakfast with the staff and then go to 10 Pin bowling and Lazer Tag followed by a lunch. Following this celebration we will be studying for our final exams and getting ready to move into the next stage of our lives including full time work, apprenticeships, university or other tertiary studies.

Have a wonderful week.
