FTA Announces Call For Entries In 2025 Award Competitions The Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) has issued a call for entries for the 2025 editions of its annual awards competitions, which shine a spotlight on excellence, inno- vation and sustainability within the flexographic printing/ packaging industry. The FTA Excellence in Flexography Awards recognize high-quality and consistent flexographic printing, and the printers who produce it. The deadline to enter is Jan. 17, 2025. The FTA Technical Innovation Award spotlights innova- tive technologies impacting the flexographic printing pro- cess. Deadline to enter is Feb. 14, 2025. The FTA Sustainability Excellence Award honors com- panies for their sustainability programs and innovations in sustainability. The deadline to enter is Jan. 10, 2025. Winners will be announced at FTA’s Awards Banquet during FORUM & INFOFLEX 2025, May 4 – May 7 in Pitts- burgh, Pennsylvania, and displayed in the Awards Gallery on the INFOFLEX show floor.

Ahmedabad, India-based MBR Flexibles, a division of MBR group, has installed Mark Andy 2200 and Mark Andy Evolution Series E5. Both flexographic presses were pur- chased through Flexo Image Graphics (FIG). MBR Group was established in the 1960s when the company’s business revolved around dye chemicals, textile auxiliaries, and bulk intermediates. MBR Flexibles was created in 2010, with one unit engaged in flexible packaging manufacturing and another focused on label printing. Currently, MBR Flexibles produces 900 to 1,000 tons of flexible packaging products every month. Beontag Opens $80 Million Facility In Ohio Beontag, a provider of pressure sensitive adhesives and smart tags using technologies such as RFID and NFC, has opened a facility in Trotwood, Ohio. This opening represents planned investment of $80 million in the facility, including investment in innovative technology equipment and infrastructure, quadrupling Be- ontag’s output capacity in North America. By fourth quarter 2025, the facility will be able to ship up to 3 billion RFID tags and up to 2.9 billion square feet of graphic and label materials per year, equivalent to more than 50,000 football fields, for sectors including mass market labeling, tickets, industrial and smart tire tags. .
