In partnership with the SA Property Council, Aged Care & Housing (ACH) group, and South Australia Housing Authority (SAHA), Housing Choices participated in ‘The Future of Social Housing’ event in November 2019. The event sought to discuss the future of social housing while showcasing the Spence on Light development. The event featured three speakers; our Managing Director, Michael Lennon, Warwick Stuart (SAHA), and Frank Weits (ACH). Each speaker presented for ten minutes and a panel discussion, moderated by Maria Palumbo, CEO of Junction Australia, followed the presentations.

While Spence on Light was still under construction, the event presented a fantastic opportunity to engage with key
industry figures while exhibiting the monumental achievements of all those involved in the project.
Held at Melbourne University, the Evan Walker Conversation is funded by the John Cain Foundation and brings together industry leaders. Managing Director, Michael Lennon, was invited to join the 2019 Evan Walker Conversation, along with Victorian Minister for Housing, Planning & Multicultural Aairs, Hon. Richard Wynne MP. Mr Wynne said that Melbourne was experiencing a third-wave of population growth that was bigger than the gold rush.
“Melbourne will be home to more than 8 million people in 2051 and will be as diverse as New York City.”
Housing Choices is pleased to have been part of crucial discussions on Melbourne's rapid population growth, and to discuss creative solutions for the city's housing.
