In a world first, Ovida's microgrid brings renewable energy to our Housing Choices Preston apartment building. This shared solar energy resource will be available to all residents to enable energy-saving and reduce their electricity bills. This microgrid system includes 70kW of solar, 54kWh of battery storage, and Solshare energy distribution technology connected to 52 apartments. The 52 residents, who all have physical disabilities or other challenges, will now be able to use cheaper renewable energy from the one solar and battery system.
Our Chief Commercial Ocer, Brian Motz, joined Victorian Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change and Minister for Solar Homes, Lily D'Ambrosio and Minister Robin Scott, Member for Preston. We are thrilled to be able to provide our residents with energy eciency initiatives thanks to the joint eorts of Ovida, Allume Energy, Gippsland Solar and Australian Energy Foundation. The project was featured as a feature article in PV Magazine.
