It is gratifying to know that so many men are quietly and candidly giving ear to the old truths. We have never known more attentive and respectful audiences than those now assembling on our streets to hear the stofy of the cross. " No child of God has a right to anything save the wages of sin. Justice, apart from grace in Christ's cross, must allot to every sinner hell for his -wages and portion. If the sinner is to have eternal life, he must have it as a free gift from God. What is it to obey the Gospel, but to be- lieve the Gospel? Unbelief says, ' I will not re- cieve Christ as a gift from God.' "
