• “Hope in the Struggle”: Co-hosted with University of Minnesota’s Humphery School of Public Affairs, the sold-out premiere screening included an engaging discussion that was moderated by Executive Producer Daniel Bergin and featured Dr. Josie Johnson, along with her daughters, Josie Johnson and Norene Duffy, and her granddaughter, Josie Duffy Rice. • “Profe”: Community members were invited to TPT’s Street Space for a preview of “Profe” and a rich discussion moderated by Dr. Jessica Lopez Lyman and Producer Sergio Mata’u Rapu. The event featured inspiring words from film protagonists, along with Former State Representative Carlos Mariani Rosa. MINNESOTA STATE FAIR TPT returned to the Minnesota State Fair, offering an enhanced family-friendly space with shade, seating and daily activations like co-branded backpack giveaways, yard games, PBS KIDS character cutouts and a new interactive survey in which fans named “Wild Kratts” and “PBS News Hour” as their favorites. Kids Day featured a popular meet & greet with Daniel Tiger, and TPT also hosted an “Almanac” meet & greet with Cathy Wurzer and Kaomi Lee.
PREMIERE SCREENINGS FOR LOCAL HISTORY FILMS
• “Jesse Ventura Shocks the World!”: This sold-out event at The Main Cinema included an energetic talk-back after the film that was moderated by Tane Danger and featured “Almanac’s” Mary Lahammer and Eric Eskola. • “The Electric Indian”: In working with Henry Boucha’s family and Hockey Day MN, an estimated 400 people attended this premiere screening in Henry’s hometown of Warroad. Producer Leya Hale led a talk-back with three of Henry’s grandchildren, which inspired an engaging conversation about his legacy, Warroad’s responsibility to the Indigenous community and what they all hoped would be the response to the film.
