The January Term has experienced significant changes in both Student Headcount and Student Registrations across Civilian, Military, and Veteran populations over the past four years. These trends reveal challenges and opportunities, culminating in a transformative year in 2024-25, when the highest year-over-year growth rates were recorded. Key highlights of the trends include: 2024-25 marked the most significant growth for the January term: Student Headcount increased by 18.8% from the previous year, totaling 11,277 students. Student Registrations rose by 22.0% , reaching 17,890 registrations. Over the four-year period: Total Headcount grew by 23.0% . Total Registrations increased by 29.3% . AT A GLANCE JANUARY TERM Military students accounted for the largest proportional increases, while steady growth among Civilian and Veteran populations further supported overall expansion.

A NEW RECORD JANUARY TERM

The 2024-25 January Term set records for growth, with all three categories— Civilian, Military, and Veteran—achieving significant gains. Total headcount rose by 18.8% , and registrations increased by 22.0% , the highest year-over-year growth observed in the four-year period. Civilian headcount increased by 16.8% , reaching 3,540, with Juniors experiencing steady growth of 12.2% . Graduate students made the most significant contribution, with a 19.0% increase in headcount. Registrations followed a similar trend, increasing by 17.7% , with Graduate registrations rising by 24.7% . Military students drove much of the overall growth, with headcount increasing by 22.0% , from 4,447 to 5,426. Freshman headcount rose by 48.6% , while registrations increased by 26.3% , from 6,484 to 8,190. Veteran headcount grew by 14.5% , rising from 2,019 to 2,311, with Freshmen achieving the most significant gains ( 108.6% ). Registrations increased by 19.7% , with notable growth across all classifications. USNCC USNCC was a pivotal driver of growth in 2024-25, significantly contributing to both headcount and registrations. Military headcount within USNCC increased by 49.5% , from 458 to 685, while registrations rose by 50.3% , from 470 to 715. For the first time, Veterans were included in USNCC programs, with 2 students contributing 7 registrations. USNCC accounted for 8.7% of Military registrations and 12.6% of Military headcount in 2024-25. Notes Despite the significant growth achieved in 2024-25, opportunities remain to enhance student engagement and retention. Civilian Seniors experienced a decline in headcount ( -15.1% ), indicating a potential challenge in maintaining engagement among those closer to degree obtainment.

HEADCOUNT TRENDS Between 2021-22 and 2022-23, total Student Headcount decreased by 8.8% , falling from 9,169 to 8,365. This decline was driven by reductions in Military ( -12.1% ) and Veteran ( -9.8% ) headcounts, while Civilian headcount experienced a smaller decline of 3.4% . The period between 2022-23 and 2023-24 marked a recovery, with total headcount rising by 13.5% . Military students led this resurgence, with a 21.0% increase, followed by Civilians, who grew by 7.3% , and Veterans, who increased by 8.2% . The growth trajectory continued into 2023-24 to 2024-25, where total headcount increased by 18.8% . Military students grew by 22.0% , reaching 5,426, while Civilian headcount rose by 16.8% , reaching 3,540. Veterans experienced a 14.5% increase, growing to 2,311. Cumulatively, total headcount grew by 23.0% over the four-year period, with:

Civilian headcount increasing by 21.1% . Military headcount growing by 29.8% . Veteran headcount rising by 11.8% .

REGISTRATION TRENDS

Registrations trends mirrored those of headcount, with early declines followed by robust recovery and record growth in 2024-25. Between 2021-22 and 2022-23, total registrations fell by 6.8% , from 13,838 to 12,899, driven by reductions in Military ( -9.7% ) and Veteran ( -10.1% ) registrations. Civilian registrations remained nearly stable, declining by only 0.1% . The rebound began in 2022-23 to 2023-24, as total registrations increased by 13.7% , reaching 14,667. Military registrations grew by 17.9% , while Civilians and Veterans increased by 10.1% and 11.3% , respectively. In 2024-25, registrations achieved their largest single-year increase of 22.0% , growing to 17,890. Military registrations rose by 26.3% , reaching 8,190, while Civilian and Veteran registrations increased by 17.7% and 19.7% , respectively. Over the four-year period, cumulative registrations growth was 29.3% , with:

Civilian registrations increasing by 29.4% . Military registrations growing by 34.4% . Veteran registrations rising by 19.8% .
