EARLY CHILDHOOD LEARNING SUPPORT SPECIALIST The Learning Support Specialist joined our classes, observed the children and provided training for our teachers. The specialist assisted the teachers with classroom management and techniques for specific challenges. The Learning Support Specialist worked closely with school personnel and parents to assess the social and emotional needs of our students. We then made recommendations for interventions and accommodations. With direction from the Learning Support Specialist, Levine Academy hired three additional classroom teachers to help execute the accommodation plans set into motion this school year. Providing a Learning Support Specialist in the classrooms helped support our students and provided ample training and collaboration for our teachers and parents. Thank you Jewish Federation for this important grant.

EARLY CHILDHOOD

SCHOLARSHIPS Thank you to the Helen E. Risch Preschool Scholarship Fund of the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation for supporting EC Families.

OUTDOOR EDUCATION:

This year, we were lucky to expand our Life Science and Gardening programs with a gardening specialist and new curriculum with our 2’s, 3’s and PreK groups. The new curriculum includes units such as the water cycle, focusing on how important the water cycle is for all living things, and the study of seeds, where we planted and studied various seeds in our outdoor classroom and even tasted some!

• Shabbat Zoom celebrations • Teachers learned how to teach virtually • Cooking classes on Zoom • Specials over Zoom (Music, PE, Library, Hebrew/Jewish Studies, Science, etc.) • Teacher Home Visits
