he willed her his own personal Bible, which was a treasure indeed. From 1910 to 1937 (with one year out to teach at the Women’s Bible Seminary in Shanghai, China) Mrs. Dennis served on the faculty of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles and from 1937 to 1945 on the faculty of the Western Bible College’ during which time this school was reorgan ized as Westmont College. In 1926, she began teaching in the Sunday school of the Church of the Open Door where she had a remarkable ministry as teacher of the Auditorium Class for ten years and of the Mothers’ Class for twenty-four years. Even after ill health compelled her to retire from public ministry in 1960, Mrs. Dennis continued a few classes in her home and received many individuals who came to her for in struction in the Word and spiritual counsel. Hundreds were blessed by her Bible teaching over the years and no one exemplified better than she her own favorite Bible verse, II Corin thians 3:18: “ But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” Now she sees Him face to face, and her joy is complete. How swift the years! The flight of time Appalls us as we pause to scan The gracious guidance of our God, H is loving care for poor, frail man. Though in pure grace He cares for all, Yet deep within H is love reside Those who, re-born, by faith in Christ, Compose the mystic church, H is bride. Beneath— H is everlasting arms. W ithin— H is Spirit's power and grace. W ithout— the souls we still may win. Above— our loving Saviour's face! So through the years, led by H is hand, H is precious W ord our daily guide, M a y joy, peace, hope our bosoms fill. W hile in H is will we e'er abide. O n S e p t e m b e r , 20, 1962 in Glen dale, Calif., Mrs. Anna Mary Tritt Dennis was called into the pres ence of the Lord, leaving to mourn her loss a daughter, Mrs. Wilbur S. Sargent; a sister, Miss Jessie Tritt; two grandchildren and four great-grand children; and a host of friends. Bom in Sedalia, Mo. in 1877, she moved

to Los Angeles in 1888; graduated from California State Normal College in 1895; taught in the Los Angeles city schools from 1895 to 1900, when she married Albert Lee Dennis. Although she was reared in a Chris tian home, Mrs. Dennis testified that she was not bom again until she was thirty years of age. While attending a Bible class taught by Rev. Thomas ( “ Daddy” ) Horton at the first loca tion of the Bible Institute of Los An geles — 3rd and Main Streets — from an exposition of Exodus 12, she rea lized her need to personally accept Christ as her Passover and to have His shed blood applied to her sins. She saw something else: the general need for instruction in the Word of God, and she began to devote herself to the study of the Bible. As a result, she became known as one of the out standing women Bible teachers in the country. So highly regarded was she by the eminent Dr. R. A. Torrey that
