I’d gone on Open Air Evangelism trips to New York City twice before. I’d gone once for a 10 day trip like this, and for a weekend during my first year, but never had I led anyone to the Lord. Never. It was during my second year here at the Bible Institute that I did have the oppor tunity to lead one of my snow campers to the Lord and that just set my heart on fire. Then I led four girls in our youth group for LCM to the Lord which had my fire going even more. Coming into the Open Air trip, I prayed that the Lord would just send one girl I could talk to and lead to him to the Lord. We spent every day on the streets, talking, praying, and sharing the good news with people. We visited four of the five boroughs and rode endless subways. As a team we shared the gospel over 400 times and during one of those times, I was able to lead a young lady to the Lord. She had grown up a catholic and found it unfulfilling. I was able to explain how simple the gospel was and she thanked me and accepted Christ as her own. It was fulfilling for both of us. The Lord showed us all that he can use us even in the smallest ways. Through our ministry, our 26 students led around 50 souls to the Lord.
