PAYROLL PETS

Modern life is incredibly busy. Combining work and home life can be a balancing act, and recently, we’ve all been exposed to considerable uncertainty. Pets can really help our mental well-being and help us find some solace and stability in difficult times. We asked you, the payroll professionals, to show us your pets.

Here are just a few of your wonderful furry and feathered friends...

Names: Tyson and Bella Sent by: Eleanor Eggleton ACIPP, senior associate, payroll at Gravita

Names: Franky, Bonnie and Lulu Sent by: Kay Augustus MCIPPdip, chief executive officer and founder, Augustus Payroll Services ”Here’s a recent picture of my girls, Franky, Bonnie and Lulu. They have been my lifeline lately since going solo with my business.” “Having been severely allergic to most pets all my life, from hamsters and cats to dogs and horses, I’ve missed out on a furry friend. But mostly, this past decade, my son has too. As he’s a huge animal lover, this made my son sad, which has also upset me. Then along came Caesar, our bearded dragon. Bringing home Caesar not only put the biggest smile on my son’s face, but he also listens to me rant after a hard day at work. We love him!” Name: Ceasar Sent by: Tina Kirikal, payroll manager, Ramside Estates Limited

“These are my furry best friends, Tyson and Bella. We got Tyson in February 2020, and it was great having him to keep me company during lockdown. We then decided Tyson should have a fluffy friend and got Bella in July 2022.”

Name: Jasmin Sent by: Hayley Cartland, MCIPP,

payroll implementation consultant, SQEPtech Limited “This is Jasmin, my 5-month-old Labrador pup! She joined our squad back in May, regularly joins calls and I’m sure she will understand payroll soon enough! She has been a huge comfort to me following the unexpected loss of my Mum, and despite having three other dogs, my husband got her to help me through the tough times as being a puppy, she’s more demanding! “It really is true that a dog can be your best friend. The children adore her, and she follows our other dogs, often instigating the mischief.”

If you’ve submitted your payroll pet to us and they’re not included, you’ll see them in a future issue of Professional .
