1974 Mission Statement

Sumner College strives to provide quality education and instruction to all students. We feel it is our responsibility to provide our graduates with the knowledge, skills and ability needed to become competitive and successful in their chosen field. We are dedicated to promoting intellectual growth and development for all of our students in a safe and secure learning environment. Sumner College established the following goals and objectives to measure the ongoing achievement of its mission: Provide a culture where its core values are visible in the activities and interactions of all administrators, faculty, staff, and students Periodic reviews of student learning outcomes that will result in continuous academic improvement Identify and implement collaborative and specific activities to facilitate successful completion of students’ educational objectives

Assist graduates in securing entry-level full time employment in their field of study

Hiring qualified faculty with exceptional knowledge and skills

Partnering with the local facilities and organizations to offer off-campus educational experiences that will result in providing the community with graduates that will one day become respected professionals in their field of study, and contribute to the overall wellness and wellbeing of the community Provide a classroom environment that will support students’ professional and social development Support the staff and faculty by adhering to high ethical standards, while respecting a multiple perspective approach
