Sustainable Solutions Agricultural Research Center
Valent U.S.A. is driving progress toward UN Sustainable Development Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through its work at the Sustainable Solutions Agricultural Research Center (SSARC) in Yuma, Arizona, which opened in 2024. Established in partnership with the University of Arizona’s Yuma Center of Excellence for Desert Agriculture (YCEDA), the SSARC serves as a central hub for scientific research, product innovation, and collaboration across more than 150 specialty and field crops. Located in one of North America’s most productive agricultural regions, where over 91 percent of the nation’s winter leafy greens are grown, the SSARC was designed to advance sustainable and regenerative agriculture in arid environments. Its partnership with YCEDA provides access to cutting-edge facilities and multidisciplinary expertise in soil health, crop production, water management, and mechanization, enabling research that directly benefits growers year-round.
