Qualifications Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.

Experience/ Knowledge

Experience of working effectively with senior leaders and key stakeholders (internal and external). Experience of developing and delivering strategically important events. Experience of working effectively within a large and complex organisation. Experience of managing large and logistically complex events. Experience and skills in procurement and budget management. Knowledge of current standards and best practice in the field of event management. Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation as relates to events and venue operations with the experience of carrying out thorough risk assessments and the implementation of control measures.

Experience of working in higher education or other public sector organisations.

Skills/Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent client/customer management skills. Excellent stakeholder management skills. Excellent persuasion and negotiation skills.

Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.

Ability to robustly evaluate event activities and projects, identify areas for improvement, and plan new approaches and tactics.
