2021 Economic Summit Provided Valuable Economic Insights

T he 2021 Economic Summit, held at the Rochester International Event Center on Thursday, December 2, provided an informative look at the past, current, and future economy on a local, regional, and national level. The program featured two panels, the Industry Panel and the Small Business and Entrepreneur Panel. The Industry Panel provided valuable insight into various industries and how the economy is affecting these different industries. The Small Business and Entrepreneur Panel explored the journey of becoming a entrepreneur and the trials and tribulations of owning a small business. Jennifer Hawkins and Brigid Tuck from the University of Minnesota Extension team presented the survey results from our Business Outlook Survey during the program. This survey helped to show the impacts the economy has had on local Rochester businesses over the past few years, as well as what businesses expect the next few years to look like. The event concluded with keynote speaker Dr. Roger Tutterow, Professor of Economics and Director of the Econometric Center at Kennesaw State University. Dr. Tutterow shared his expertise and provided in-depth information on the national and regional economy.
