High-Cost Healthcare Workforce Expansion Grant Funds Nursing Program The North Carolina Community College System awarded Brunswick Community College $398,604 as part of a High-Cost Healthcare Workforce Expansion grant. This award will be used to fund additional expenses to expand nursing programs at BCC. This includes hiring more faculty to maintain appropriate student-to-faculty ratios, increasing instructional supplies and materials by 25%, and purchasing new program equipment like simulation mannequins. By expanding nursing program capacity through this grant, BCC aims to produce more highly trained nurses to meet workforce demands while maintaining a quality education.
