CAREER & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Brunswick Community College has designed career pathways for students seeking programs that accelerate the development of employability skills that lead to national credentials. Students enrolled in workforce development can experience a series of interconnected educational training programs to help them secure a job or advance in a high-demand industry.
2024 Highlights
• Expanded HVAC program to include EPA certifications, work-based learning opportunities, and new Trade credentials • Awarded $194,000 by the North Carolina Community College System to implement Access To Achievement, which supports students diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Awarded $320,693 by the North Carolina Community College System to expand Dental Assisting Program
• Awarded $398,604 by the North Carolina Community College System to expand the Nursing Program
• Provided 90 courses for existing business and industry operating in Brunswick County
• Hosted 3rd annual Womenpreneur Empowerment Summit with nine guest speakers and 38 attendees.
• Celebrated 6th annual Manufacturing Day Event with 50 high school students at Precision Swiss Product Manufacturing. • Odell Williamson Auditorium celebrated its 31st season with 8 season shows and record-breaking attendance from patrons.
