Small Business Center Hosts Third Annual Womenpreneur Empowerment Summit
Brunswick Community College hosted its 3rd annual Womenpreneur Empowerment Summit at the Leland Small Business Center.
The summit provided a dynamic two-day experience designed to empower, educate, and enrich. Participants engaged with expert speakers on topics such as work-life balance, the entrepreneurial mindset, bookkeeping essentials, leadership strategies, and stepping outside comfort zones to confidently own their space. A highlight of the event was the fireside chat featuring Mariah Hayes and Jo Johnson from United Bank, who provided invaluable insights on preparing businesses to secure loans. Attendee feedback continues to pour in, highlighting the summit’s positive impact on their professional and personal growth.
Business & Industry Incubator Space The Business Incubator program is designed to accelerate the development of entrepreneurial occupants through an array of business support resources and services. These services increase the survival rate of occupant’s businesses for the retention of employees and to enhance business expansion opportunities to grow the local economy. The Incubator can occupy three new businesses for the creation of as many as 20 jobs within 24 months. Brunswick Community College supports business development through services provided by the Small Business Center and Workforce Development Training through a collaborative effort with the Brunswick County Economic Development Commission. Included with this opportunity is the Success Team, a group of professionals that work with tenants from pre- application until they leave the space. Their goal is to help tenants run and grow their businesses.
