Manufacturing Day
This event showcased local manufacturing firms, careers, training, and the integrated machine technology lab at Brunswick Community College. The day began with a behind-the-scenes tour at Precision Swiss Products, giving students a firsthand look at the innovative technology driving today’s manufacturing industry. Afterward, 46 students enjoyed a lunch at Odell Williamson Auditorium and had the chance to engage with a guest speaker from the manufacturing sector, who highlighted educational pathways, career opportunities, and potential earnings within the field. The event concluded with interactive tours and activities at BCC’s state-of-the-art Integrated Machine Technology Lab in the WJ and Sibyl McLamb Building. Students experienced demonstrations on manual machines, 3-axis, and 8-axis CNC lathes, sparking interest in hands-on learning and manufacturing careers.
The 2024 Career Fair at BCC attracted 130 job seekers and 63 local employers. The event also offered community members the chance to connect with BCC’s program directors and NC Works staff. In addition, the event featured resume and interview workshops, along with professional headshots. Novant Health proudly served as this year’s platinum sponsor. Career Fair
