Fire Extinguisher Training with Walex Products Company

Walex Products Company employees can now confidently operate a fire extinguisher thanks to customized training designed by Brunswick Community College. BCC enlisted the help of the Leland Fire Department’s Captain Matt Sellers to conduct the training. After an introduction from BCC’s Director of Customized Training, Steve Hulon, Captain Sellers provided an overview of the fire station’s services, safety tips, and fire extinguishers employees can find at their workplace. He trained employees on how to operate the extinguishers and maintain them safely. Employees participated in a timed exercise, allowing each to fight a simulated fire.

Firearm Training with VirTra Simulations

Brunswick Community College’s law enforcement instructors recently trained with VirTra’s advanced simulated firearm system, gaining hands-on experience with tools like multi-screen simulators, extended reality goggles, and less-lethal and lethal equipment. The training emphasized realistic scenarios to enhance decision-making and preparedness. Instructors also learned to use VirTra’s certified curriculum and scenario authoring software, enabling them to create tailored training for officers. This experience equipped BCC instructors to deliver impactful, real-world training to future law enforcement professionals.
