I Didn’t Leave the Church — The Church Left Me

involved. If someone murders a pregnant woman, why are they charged with double-homicide? The church left us. Many churches today are perfectly okay with same sex marriage, because “love is love.” But God speaks of natural love and unnatural love in Scripture, and unnatural “love” He describes as abomination. Especially in the context of sexual relationships. In Romans, Paul teaches how people exchanged natural sexual re- lationships with unnatural sexual relationships. Most often, at least in the church of yesterday, this passage explains the difference between homosexual relationships (unnatural) with heterosexual relationships (natural). Today however, the “new and improved” church looks at the pas- sage and teaches the concept that people are acting against their own natural orientation rather than condemning same-sex relation- ships. Other forms of natural love in Scripture is the natural love between family members, seen as a gift from God. Natural love is the love be- tween a husband and wife, God’s original design for marriage, not a husband and husband or a wife and wife. This natural affection is not just mentioned by Paul but also in the Old Testament, specifically Leviticus 20. Many churches today are marrying same-sex couples in the church. The church left us. Many churches today are just “changing with the times.” The ac- ceptance of grace means there is no sin too big for God to put up with. If the choir director is having an affair (adultery) with the preacher, it’s okay, their business, times change. But God said He never changes, and He is the one who made these rules. Jesus did not change the commandments.

was not XX or XY. But genetics has “evolved” and now there are 72 genders, at least as of today, according to medicinenet.com. Gender and what sex you are, has changed. From medicinenet.com: “In today’s age, one does not need to fit in with regards to their choices, including their gender identity. Gender is no more regarded as a binary concept where one can either be a male or female. It has emerged as a continuum or spectrum where one can identify themselves as any of the gender identities. The term ‘gender identity’ means how a person identifies themselves concern- ing their gender. It may be regardless of their anatomy or genetics. Thus, a person may identify themselves as male, female, none, both or some other category independent of their genitals.” Can’t make this stuff up. If someone identifies as a Great Dane, can they go to a vet for medical? So how is the new, evolved church dealing with transgender/trans- sexual? All of the following information is Google verified. There are now transgender ministers covering several denomina- tions and other faiths. Here are a few examples of this evolution: Remington Johnson: A Presbyterian USA minister who is a trans- gender woman and intensive care nurse in Texas. Laura Bethany Buchleiter: The first known transgender ordained by a Cooperative Baptist Fellowship congregation in Indiana. Shannon Kearns: First openly transgender ordained by the North American Old Catholic Church in 2013. Megan Rohrer: First openly transgender leader of a Lutheran con- gregation in San Francisco. Many “Christian” denominations have taken official stances sup- porting transgender clergy. Several Christian denominations have taken official positions supporting transgender clergy: United Church of Christ; The Episcopal Church; The United Methodist Church; The ELCA Lutheran Church; Unitarian Universalism — they became the first denomination to accept openly transgenders as full members of the clergy in 1979. The increasing acceptance of transgender religious leaders is to create “more inclusive” faith communities and challenge traditional interpretations of religious texts, like the Bible. The Church left us. There are other abominations, defined by God, on the horizon. How accepting will the evolved “church” become? According to publicdispatch.org, the push to decriminalize pedophilia is on the rise, as stated here: “Pedophilia as a recognized sexual ori- entation has gained relevance with a rising number of organizations and academics within the last decade. Pedophilia networks thrive in marketplaces that enable access, affordability and anonymity.” In 1977, Anita Bryant’s “Save Our Children” campaign, which was poo-pooed by the liberal press in the peak of the Sexual Revolution, discovered a Toronto-based newspaper promoting Gerald Hannon’s article sympathetic to “boy love” and set the stage for the founding of NAMBLA, the North American Man Boy Love Association. The push to decriminalize pedophilia has only gained strength since then. I didn’t leave the church; the church left me. How I wish for the churches in the ‘50s. Hymns glorifying God and praises to Jesus, full parking lots. Where I live, many church parking lots on Sundays are almost empty.

During the last 60 years, there has been a great disconnect between church doctrine and the biblically ingrained beliefs of the flock. At least with the seniors’ flock. The church many of us grew up in was more fire and brimstone than discotheque, more condemnation of our sinful behavior, according to Scripture, than acceptance. More education of why we should study the Commandments and behave ourselves. How did we get from the fire and brimstone church to the “if it feels good, do it” church? There are still many great churches in this country and great preach- ers too, but many have left the flock. Many churches have gone from education centers to entertainment centers. Some look like a dis- cotheque from the ‘70s: loud music, bright lights, mirror balls, every- thing is good, especially if you send money. Lots of it. And a great lack of Scripture, except for Scripture that tickles the flocks’ ears. Jesus is being taught as all accepting but said this: “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Many experience destruction, no eternal life with God. Few experi- ence eternal life with God. There is a great dichotomy between church teachings today and that of yesterday. Many churches today are okay with abortion because it’s a “woman’s choice what she does with her body.” Most would agree it is her choice what she does with her own body, but it is what she does to the other body, the one she is carrying that has completely different DNA than she does. A woman does not have 2 hearts, 2 brains, 20 toes and 20 fingers. There is another body

God is explicit that He never changes and is known as divine immutability. In Malachi 3:6, God makes a declaration: “I am the Lord; I change not.” Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” James 1:7, “God is the “Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” Divine immutability assures a stable foundation in an ever-changing world. The acceptance of amoral change is completely unbiblical and is an attempt to not hurt anyone’s feelings. Does anyone think Jesus was worried about hurting feelings when He threw the offering-sellers out of the Temple or called the Pharisees a “brood of vipers?” Was Jesus a pacifist when He called the synagogue “the synagogue of Satan” in Revelation 2:9 and 3:9? The church left us. How many genders are there? In 1973, I graduated from NC State University in Zoology, the study of an- imal life. There were only two genders at that time, based on sex chromosomes. A guy had XY sex chro- mosomes, and a gal had XX sex chromosomes. If a baby was born XX, she was female. If a baby was born XY, he was a male. Throughout hundreds, maybe thousands of years, archaeologists have dis- covered many skeletons of humans and other ani- mals. They have never discovered an animal that
