Where National Trainers do not meet these requirements, it will not be possible to offer programme, course or enhanced recap delivery opportunities, and may result in removal from the National Trainer role and/ or Instructor Member role. 12.1 Interrupted membership Memberships can be interrupted and placed on hold/suspended for the following reasons: – Inactivity leading to lapsed membership – Voluntary interruption requested by the Instructor Member – Quality assurance and compliance related suspensions The pathway to membership reactivation will be specific to the situation. Reactivation Lapsed membership Reactivation is only possible for Instructor Members in the following situations, where membership status has lapsed due to not meeting the minimum membership delivery requirements. For a lapse in meeting minimum delivery requirements of between 1 – 3 years, to reactivate membership status, an Instructor Member will need to: – Sign the Instructor Member agreement – Pay the membership fee – Complete the self-led online Instructor Member Recap – Have a historic record of receiving a consistently high standard of feedback for MHFA course deliveries – Complete any other actions, training and/ or upskills as directed by MHFA England

Where an Instructor Member’s last delivery of a full MHFA course was over three years but less than six years ago, to reactivate membership status they will need to: – Sign the Instructor Member agreement – Pay the membership fee – Pay for and complete the National Trainer- led Instructor Member Enhanced Recap – Have a historic record of receiving a consistently high standard of feedback for MHFA course deliveries – Complete any other actions, training and/ or upskills as directed by MHFA England Where historic course delivery feedback is inconsistent, you may be required to complete additional actions as directed by MHFA England to support your membership reactivation journey. Instances where it has been six years or more since the last full Mental Health First Aid course delivery, you will be required to pay for and complete the full MHFA England Instructor Training Programme in order to become an Instructor Member again. Voluntary interruption An Instructor Member can choose to voluntarily interrupt their membership status for a minimum of six months and up to a maximum of three years. Some examples of circumstances where a member might choose voluntary interruption include:

– Change in employment – Health and/or wellbeing

– Parental leave – Bereavement
