This summer’s political instability was unlikely to reassure buyers and sellers. As these words are written in early September, the Prime Minister has finally been appointed and once the stress generated by the dissolution of the National Assembly has dissipated, it is reasonable to imagine that the luxury real estate market will regain its serenity. Concerning average prices, however, notary statistics reveal that the price per square meter in Paris has dropped by over 13% since its peak in 2022.

The consensus is that after this clear drop in prices, the current price level reflects a new balance of power between sellers and buyers.
Luxury assets and exceptional properties are – as always – keenly sought- after in the capital, its desirable western suburbs and in Provence.
Consequently, our sales volume during the second quarter of 2024 corresponds to a market which is, once again, fluid, and in July sales concluded by our agencies may even be qualified as being at a very good level. The Olympic Games this summer unquestionably enlightened the capital, and reminded us of what our foreign customers have always told us: “Paris is the most beautiful city in the world”. Perhaps some of us lost sight – and perhaps it’s not entirely untrue?
