Hint: It’s Not Achieved Until the Day After

There’s nothing quite like the holiday season in New York City. It doesn’t matter whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa — the sense of excitement, coziness, and community captures everyone. To this day, when the holiday lights go up and the Christmas Spectacular appears at Radio City Music Hall, I feel like my feet are hardly touching the ground! In particular, I love the way people treat each other during the holidays. Everyone’s a little bit kinder, and when my team and I design holiday events, we try to tap into that spirit. We ask questions like, “Which elements are contributing to this positive environment?” and “How can we create that feel-good moment everyone is craving?” Eventique specializes in corporate holiday events, and we’ve crafted both internal gatherings for employees and external events for partners and clients. (Turn the page to read about a few of my favorites.) Our focus is always on the audience: Are we celebrating them or encouraging them to celebrate others? Is this event a way for your team to let loose after overcoming challenges and achieving a successful year, or a way for your company to give back to generous clients and partners that make your work possible? Above all, how can we spread that message and make sure it resonates in a meaningful way? If we’re designing your holiday party, we don’t just want your guests to have a good time — we want them to leave with irreplaceable memories. We want them to tell the story of your event at every holiday dinner they have with family and friends and appreciate you a bit more with each iteration. The holidays are a break from our daily grind, and the memories we make during the season can carry us through the blues of starting over in January. As a kid, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade helped me survive the back-to- school gloom every year — and a well-executed holiday party can do the same for you. Everyone deserves to be celebrated, and the holidays are the perfect time to do that. If you wanted to book a holiday event with us this year but didn’t quite make it happen, get in touch at Eventique.com . It’s never too early to request a proposal for 2023!

Some people start thinking about the holidays as early as September, but for me, the season doesn’t begin until I glimpse the first balloon of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. As a kid, my parents always shook me awake in the dawn light on Thanksgiving Day. They helped me pull on my warmest pants, jacket, boots, hat, and mittens in the dark. Then, my father slung a ladder over his shoulder and we made our way toward the Central Park West parade route. When we got there, Dad set up a ladder and I scrambled to the top to peek above the crowd. I cheered on the floats from what felt like the best perch in the city! After the parade, Mom grabbed my hand and took me on a window-shopping tour of Barney’s, Bloomingdales, and other high-end stores around the city. We never bought anything — we just admired the over-the- top holiday window displays. In retrospect, I think some of my passion for design and pageantry must have come from those chilly November afternoons.

WELCOME TO THE HOLIDAY BUBBLE Eventique Invites Attendees to Leave Reality Behind

the icy Ocean Life room, multi-dimensional LED walls wrapped the performance stage, swarming with custom-designed, kaleidoscopic snowflakes that seemed to dance in time with the music. The party was unforgettable, just as Eventique intended. In their team’s eyes, every holiday gathering — whether for employees, clients, or partners — is an opportunity to celebrate and make memories.

How do you encapsulate Iceland’s rugged, natural landscape and distill it into a holiday party for more than 600 guests? In 2017, Eventique rose to that challenge at the request of the technology company IPsoft (now known as Amelia). Inspired by Iceland’s volcanic peaks, majestic glaciers, and native wildlife, Eventique used the Museum of Natural History’s lobby and Ocean Life Room as canvases for a “Fire and Ice” theme. A blue whale suspended from the ceiling swam through the air above IPsoft’s employees and their spouses as they mingled, enjoyed bites from 20 different food stations, and sipped champagne from delicate flutes passed out by bartenders in fire and ice body paint. The whale cast a shadow over the blue-lit dance floor and glistening ice sculptures below. “We translated the landscape into abstract sculptures made out of real ice and brought another organic element to the decor by fabricating ice caves, which brought to mind the winter habitat of a variety of different animals,” says Eventique Vice President of Creative and Strategy Eric Wielander. “We created the ice caves through projection and dynamic video. One even served as a photo booth with a continuously changing backdrop — no two photos from the night were alike.” The event was mind-bending, and IPsoft employees immersed themselves from the moment they stepped off the vintage double-decker bus that carried them to the museum. The guests donned Victorian-inspired steampunk costumes in “Lady Sibyl’s boudoir,” then ascended to the blue-and-red-lit rooms above. In

“We applaud when companies lean into the relationship they have with their employees

and look to us to deliver an event that really takes them out of their element and lets them explore new parts of themselves,” Eric says. “We know holidays are stressful, so with our corporate events, we strive to create a bubble where, for a couple of hours, attendees can truly forget everything except celebrating in the moment. We want to create a transcendent experience.” In addition to IPsoft, Eventique has produced holiday events for companies like Commvault, L’Occitane, and Saudi Petroleum. In 2014, Commvault hired our team to elevate its new 278,000-square-foot company headquarters in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, for a company holiday bash. “That holiday party was one of the first opportunities the Commvault team had to enjoy the new home recently built for them,” says Eventique founder Liron David. “We took advantage

of the space’s layout and capitalized on its energy. No matter where you went in the building, there was a place to enjoy yourself, whether you were accessorizing your outfit, watching a themed performance, or enjoying the DJs and live musicians. I heard throughout the night that the Commvault team had never imagined their office could look like that — we were able to elevate it even though it was a brand-new space. People are still talking about it years later!” On the client-facing side, Eventique regularly produced holiday events for Saudi Petroleum at The Pierre Hotel and even the Waldorf Astoria pre-renovation. These over-the-top productions matched Eventique’s entertainment with the floral designs and decor of Jonathan Couture. Year after year, every event told a different story with explosive floral arrangements (sometimes bursting from the tables, other times cascading down around guests’ heads), and themed performances. More recently, Eventique crafted a customer and influencer- focused event for the French beauty brand L’Occitane to kick off the holiday season. The “Wonder Inside” pop-up at Lavan 541 in New York City highlighted the brand’s signature holiday products, featuring colorful, larger-than-life graphics of its signature Beauty Advent Calendar and ornamental doll houses. “By day, we hosted hundreds of consumers who came in to sample L’Occitane’s products, and in the evening, we transitioned the space into an influencer event with attendees like Batsheva Haart, Ellery Lee, Cici Celia, and Laura & Nicholas Herbert,” Eric says. When you review Eventique’s back catalog, one thing is abundantly clear: Whether they’re designed for team “We know holidays are stressful, so with our corporate events, we strive to create a bubble where, for a couple of hours, attendees can truly forget everything except celebrating in the moment. We want to create a transcendent experience.”

members, clients, or the press, Eventique’s corporate holiday parties, “are far from a Santa Claus cocktail mixer tossed together with stockings, snowmen, and ugly Christmas sweaters,” as Eric puts it. They’re one-of-a-kind experiences designed to build relationships that last through the holiday season and beyond.

Meet Senior Project Manager Allison Bonacquisti EVENTIQUE’S HOLIDAY EVENT PLANNER EXTRAORDINAIRE!

“I’m a people person, so I just really love working with all types of clients, being the holder of information, staying very organized, and making sure all the i’s are dotted and t’s are crossed,” Allison says. At Eventique, Allison has immersed herself in cutting- edge event formats: livestream events, hybrid in-person and digital gatherings, and even traveling productions like Youth to the People’s Future World Tour. The latter required her team to fabricate a 31-foot vintage Airstream and transform it into the brand’s “future world” on wheels. The Airstream appeared in front of Sephora stores in over a half-dozen markets. Shoppers stepped inside to immerse themselves in Youth to the People’s vision and learn about the brand’s Polypeptide-121 Future Cream. “My favorite part was watching the fabrication come together and working with our creative department, our creative leads, and our designers to really portray what the client wanted to showcase,” Allison recalls. “We had to make sure the fabrication elements fit their brand and were sustainable as well. I’d never produced a national road trip tour, so there was a lot to consider — it was definitely a bit of a learning curve!” Though Allison has a soft spot for weddings — no surprise, considering her own marriage to her fiance, Kyle, is in the works! — corporate holiday parties are some of her favorite events to coordinate each year. “The magic of the holidays is just so heartwarming to me,” she says. “There’s something really special about helping people celebrate with their families and friends.

Nine years ago, Allison Bonacquisti made her New York City debut as an art gallery consultant. It

was an unexpected move for someone with years of experience as an event planner for the wedding industry in Buffalo, New York — but the shakeup was just what Allison needed. “I really wanted to expand my horizons, and I thought New York City was the perfect place to do that,” she says. “I wanted to meet new clients, do different types of events, learn more about the industry, and venture outside of the wedding arena.”

Allison’s minor in art history gave her a back door into the gallery scene. But after a year on the circuit, she missed using her marketing

and management expertise in the fast-paced event planning world. So, she dove back in! For the next few years, she planned corporate and social holiday celebrations in venues like the Bryant Park Winter Village, coordinated sponsor and brand activations, and handled

the logistics for large multiday festivals like the Forbes Under 30 Summit and the Big Apple Barbecue Block Party.

By the time Eventique snapped Allison up and

offered her the post of senior

project manager in 2022, she was a seasoned logistics professional.

JUST WRAPPED

Welcome to “Just Wrapped,” a monthly summary of what our team has been up to. Every year, we plan events like corporate parties, virtual experiences, concerts, and charity galas. This list is just a small peek behind the curtain. LEGO Lates — Grown-up lovers of LEGOs rejoiced last fall when Eventique produced LEGO Lates, an immersive adults-only experience at the LEGO Store on Fifth Avenue in New York City. The event revealed that LEGOs are more than just child’s play, with performances and interviews by Skip Marley and Dora Jar, side-by-side with other entertainment and activations. The event was part of an international LEGO campaign to “offer busy adults a way to switch off, connect with others and find their flow through the power of play.” L’Occitane’s “Wonder Inside” — Product activation got festive at Lavan 541 this holiday season when Eventique crafted a customer and influencer-focused pop-up for the beauty brand L’Occitane. “Wonder Inside” showcased the brand’s signature holiday products — including its Beauty Advent Calendar and ornamental doll houses — with larger-than-life displays. Hundreds of consumers sampled products before influencer appearances by Batsheva Haart, Ellery Lee, Cici Celia, and Laura & Nicholas Herbert. Seramount’s 100 Best Companies Gala — Late last year, Eventique welcomed more than 500 attendees to Seramount’s annual gala celebrating working parents and the companies that support them. The sophisticated evening at Cipriani 42nd Street highlighted the best practices and diversity and inclusion efforts of companies like Bank of America, Merck, and S&P Global. It’s a privilege to be a part of that, and I want to make the experience as memorable as possible.” When she isn’t busy planning, hosting, and strategizing, Allison spends her downtime volunteering for and donating to local nonprofits like Her Justice and The Bowery Mission. “Giving back to the community feeds my soul, especially during the holiday season,” she says. “So many families need a little extra help around that time. I try to give back consistently.” This winter, Allison is one of many team members at Eventique bringing holiday magic to life — in more ways than one. Be a Better Host for the Holidays 5 Simple Hacks for Party Success

3. Manufacture coziness like a Realtor . “The aroma of something baking in the oven

The holiday season is always heartwarming, but it can also be the most chaotic time of the year. If you plan to host friends or family and aren’t sure where to start, use these five simple tips courtesy of Allison Bonacquisti, Eventique’s holiday event expert. 1. Hunt for inspiration. Level up your basic holiday event with a cohesive theme, color scheme, or message. Allison recommends browsing Pinterest or flipping through articles in magazines and online publications for inspiration. Pay special attention to the photos, and choose a few that resonate with you. When you land on something that “sparks your creativity and imagination,” run with it. 2. Create a prep calendar . “Sit down and plan out the logistics to make sure you have everything you need before the event,” Allison says. “Think about buying decor, lining up catering, or preparing dishes in advance. When are you going to do those things? Do you have enough oven space for everything you want to cook? Grab a calendar and plan out when and how you’ll take care of each thing on your list. That way, you won’t end up frantically trying to figure out what you’ve missed.”

makes people feel welcome,” Allison says. She recommends baking cookies as guests arrive or using an old Realtor trick: Add two teaspoons of vanilla extract to a coffee mug and bake the mug at 300 degrees for one hour. 4. Invest in champagne. Guests will want something to sip on, and champagne sets the perfect celebratory tone. 5. Don’t forget the finger food . “If I’m hosting friends or coworkers, I like to share things from my childhood that other people haven’t really experienced,” Allison says. “My mom makes sausage and cream cheese-stuffed pepper bites that I think are just delicious.” Mine your past for finger foods, whip up something that fits your theme, or stick with classics like crostini, deviled eggs, or bacon-wrapped dates. If you do these five simple things, your holiday event will be an oasis in the season’s chaos!
