Corridor-wide coalition strategies and agreements including MOUs and other mutually beneficial agreements to ensure commitments made are commitments kept.
Create public and private partnerships to integrate and leverage talents and funding sources in support of sustainable development.
Build upon JTA and JHA relationships and goals for more attainable housing options and improvement of housing accessibility near Green Line station areas.
Plan for and invest in affordable housing, affordable travel options (walking, biking and transit), and sustainable economic development.
Plan for and improve station area infrastructure (i.e., complete streets, pedestrian and bike paths, parking, stormwater management, parks and open space)
Incorporate a.) green and biophilic building design features, b.) Florida-friendly site and landscape design, c.) 2023 Resilient Jacksonville action strategies, and d.) green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) standards into new development and plan for stormwater management at the larger watershed/station area scale to improve stormwater runoff.
Plan for and create TOD within a 1/2 mile of Green Line stations to focus public and private investment and create vibrant, safe, and walkable places.
Develop and implement TOD Overlay District regulations for new and redevelopment parcels to ensure TOD patterns over time.
Create corridor brand applying brand to buses and stations. Prioritize buses at signalized intersections, increase frequency of service, and service span.
Plan for and invest in TOD infrastructure (complete streets, parking, parks, open space, stormwater).
Increase transit operating speeds using traffic signal preemption or prioritization and dedicated transit right of way. Improve the performance, functionality and design of transit stations.
Invest in Green Line transit capital and operating improvements to improve affordable access and stimulate private development.
Enable redevelopment of JHA properties where appropriate to upgrade and retain dedicated number of subsidized units while also creating new mixed-income units reflecting TOD design standards with higher density.
Re-purpose land owned by JTA and other public agencies along the corridor to stimulate private investment, support sustainable activity, and increase affordable housing along the corridor.
Establish legacy business retention programs such as tax abatement and relocation assistance for existing small businesses to remain in area as new buildings come online.
