SECONDARY TYPOLOGY
OVERVIEW
The descriptions of Secondary Typologies are generalized into six subsections: » Character » Density » Mix of Uses » Public Realm » Multimodal Connectivity » Parking
The Secondary Station Typologies are refined, specific classification of station areas. They provide additional detail and are more contextual than the definitions of the Primary Station Typologies identified in the City of Jacksonville’s zoning code. Secondary Station Typologies are developed based on the location of the site, a reasonable expectation of what character the station area will take on, how the station area will function, how the physical form will be shaped, what the market potential is for TOD, and to provide sensitivity to existing and future land use and the character of communities and existing neighborhoods within and surrounding the stations. Figure 4-7 and Figure 4-8 show the Primary and Secondary Station Typologies, and descriptions are provided on the following pages.
These key characteristics are meant to highlight key criteria and differences between the Secondary Typologies. There may be some instances where there is limited variation of characteristic definitions between Secondary Typologies that spur from the same Primary Typology.
