COMPLETE STREET STRATEGY

The following sections illustrate Complete Streets strategies recommended for the JRTC Station area. Complete Streets is a policy and design approach that promotes an all-inclusive street supporting safe, convenient access and mobility for travelers on all modes of transport. This includes pedestrians and users

of vehicles, bicycles, motorists and public transport, of all ages and abilities. Complete Streets are comprised of various design elements by which different travel modes can be safely and efficiently integrated. Each of the sections below highlights different street components compliant with this approach and suited specifically for

this station area. Figure 5-16 presents the integration of pedestrian travel routes with public spaces, Figure 5-17 shows road diet for safe sidewalks that are separated from moving vehicle by parking space and multi-use trail dedicated to non-motorized travel mode, and Figure 5-18 presents an example of narrower residential street

with shared travel lanes.
