3.1 REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION ANALYSIS
Since this study focuses on Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), transportation is a key component in the success of any future development in the region. As such, and to provide an in-depth understanding of the transportation conditions along the corridor and around the proposed station areas, the regional transportation analysis focuses on various transportation components including prior plans and studies, socioeconomic data, travel market demand, regional and station area multimodal connectivity, and emerging transportation technologies that may be applicable to select station areas. This review is complemented by the regional market analysis (Section 3.2) and the station area analysis (Section 3.3), and together they provide the context and assist in informing decision-making pertaining to TOD along the corridor.
