As neighborhoods become more “green” and more urban wildlife begins to populate the area, it is important to provide water sources sporadically throughout the neighborhoods. Depths of fountains should vary (shallow water for smaller insects such as bees, deeper water for birds, squirrels, etc.). Consider vegetated fountains or ponds also.

Local jurisdictions and permitting agencies will need to work with developers and possibly include a stipulation in development contracts or permits. Utilizing similar designs on public facilities (where feasible) will encourage developers to utilize similar designs.
