First Coast Commuter Rail Transit Oriented Development Study Public Involvement Plan Last updated: 12-14-2022

1. Introduction This project will plan for the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) along the proposed First Coast Commuter Rail Corridor (FCCR). The 38.4-mile commuter rail corridor is on Florida East Coast (FEC) Railway and extends from St. Augustine in St. Johns County, north to Downtown Jacksonville, in Duval County. The commuter rail is one of many major proposed projects to mitigate traffic congestion in the region. Public input will be critical to help inform the TOD planning study. A variety of working group meetings, community workshops, and digital design charrettes will be used to collect input from the public that will help shape the TOD plan. Digital outreach through PublicInput.com, a project website, and social media will increase the project’s reach to gather feedback from populations that may not attend scheduled workshops. The TOD plan will include station area plans, recommendations for implementation, short term and long term infrastructure needs, and next steps.
