FCCR: Transit-Oriented Development Study

P UBLIC I NVOLVEMENT P LAN

Proactively provide updates and information through a variety of methods to increase reach

Offer convenient opportunities to provide input through both virtual and in-person means (if possible)

Educate stakeholders and the public about the FCCR project

Establish strong relationships with stakeholders through open and responsive communication

Reach disadvantaged stakeholder groups through accessible content and community leaders

Citizens will be empowered to guide decision-making throughout the project with special emphasis at key milestones. We want to ensure that citizens understand the WHAT, WHY and HOW of the project in order for the community to provide informed feedback to the team. Educational information will be included on the website and in meeting materials in a non-technical format that is easily understandable by the general public. The team will clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and trade-offs. Planning studies seeking engagement often compete for citizens’ time and attention in already jam- packed daily lives. The team will proactively provide information in several formats to increase participation. Digital engagement via the website and social media will provide a quick, easy way for citizens to learn about and participate in the study at their leisure - from home, work or anywhere with internet access. Structured engagement, such as meetings and workshops, will offer face-to- face interaction with the study team, interactive formats, and live polling. Special efforts will be undertaken to identify and perform outreach to disadvantaged populations. Digital content can be modified for those without access to or comfort with online content by providing print copies of project information as requested. The public can download and print digital content from the website and study team members providing in-person outreach will have printed copies of current surveys to distribute upon request. The Project Team will coordinate with representatives of disadvantaged populations, such as community leaders and council members to ensure project information reaches those populations. 2.1 Branding Branding standards, including a logo and a visual guide, will be developed for project materials for the public to easily identify project-related information. A project logo will be used to support the project materials associated with the TOD Study.
