FCCR: Transit-Oriented Development Study

FIRST COAST COMMUTER RAIL TRANSIT-ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT (TOD) STUDY – WORKSHOP 2 COMMENT SUMMARY

Stakeholder and Community Workshop Summaries

Executive Summary As part of the public engagement efforts of the First Coast Commuter Rail Transit-oriented Development Study, a series of Stakeholder and Community Workshops were held on August 8 and 9, 2023. The Stakeholder and Community Workshops were held in two geographic areas, Duval County and St Johns County, to allow the project team to present information specific to First Coast Commuter Rail (FCCR) stations in the county where the meeting was being held. The two Stakeholder Workshops were designed to inform and engage those project partners with specific interest or involvement in the FCCR TOD project. Stakeholders were identified and invited based upon their location in either Duval or St Johns County – participation was by invitation only. These meetings were held in the afternoon prior to the Community Workshops. Community Workshops were the same format as the Stakeholder Workshops and identical information was presented, but the public at-large was invited to participate. During the workshop the project team will present the TOD station framework for each location which include d station classification, potential modifications to circulation and road network, the open space network, and the mix of land uses at the proposed station locations in each county. The Workshops provided the project team with the invaluable opportunities to engage project stakeholders and the community and, as a result, gather important input on future TOD opportunities at each station location.
