ST JOHNS COUNTY COMMUNITY WORKSHOP COMMENTS Date : August 9th, 2023, Time – 4 :30 – 6 : 30 Pm St. Augustine City Hall – Alcazar Room 75 King Street St. Augustine, FL 32084 CR210 STATION ARE Questions / Notes

1. In the Alpharetta example shown (Halcyon) is there a Marta station connected to it ? (A : No, T without D or D without the T – Example.) 2. There are houses along 210, which could be serviced through transit. Could there be transit connections through the station? (Looking at existing, and what transit is doing currently, this is a High level recommendation) 3. Given the growth of the county – Commuter rail, Need to have more people cluster around this – All you need is a garage. ? More people mean more people coming into St Augustine. (Develop will happen, can it be centered around other options than a car? (Palencia Example) 4. Can you take the commuter rail to the airport? ( A: It doesn’t) 5. What makes WSP pick station that you’ve picked? (A: JTA gave us the selected stations) 6. How much of the St.Johns County ‘s Vision Plan 2025 is considered? 7. Anti-Transit political segment – Who are in Favor – Anything done by FDOT? Will our energies be well served in legislating an act like this? 8. An aundience member expressed that as a resident they are absolutely in favor if this and expressed support by asking how to promote this. 9. 10. An audience member expressed that the station area framework is fabulous. 11. An audience member thanked WSP for doing this. They expressed that they like the green space, the village idea. Also added that they think it is important that we are thinking like this. Are there any opportunities to have trail connections between the station areas? (A: Charlotte trail example, It’s about the choice) 12. Who has to own the parcels? (JTA acquire the land to building the stations, A public – private combination) 13. An audience member suggested to Extend development to other side of US1. 14. An audience member expressed that the Bicycle trails can help, and they liked the idea of centralizing the idea of neighborhood. 15. An audience member expressed that Duval County is 90 percent single family housing, assuming St. John’s County would be similar too. (A: Understanding how policies to change and allow development like this)
