FCCR: Transit-Oriented Development Study

The St. Augustine City Commission has met with JTA on the proposal and begun work to amend its development plan to fit the commuter station with other ideas there, Skinner said. State approval of the proposed mobility land use designation could come by mid-August. Then the commission could meet again in mid-September for a final vote on the land use proposal and begin work on the parking garage and other elements. Clark said the estimated 37 miles of track and commuter rail stops could come in 2030 to 2040. The estimated cost would come when the full planning, development and environmental study formulates a potential design and some "real numbers." Final funding would have to be sought via a partnership between the JTA, local, state and federal stakeholders and "railroad partners," he said.
