SAN SEBASTIAN VIEW
ATTRACTORS & NEIGHBORHOOD ACCESS
SIDEWALKS
The FEC railway runs parallel to US 1 through the San Sebastian View Station Area, crossing at-grade across San Sebastian View. The majority of uses are commercial and Planned Unit Development (PUD), with significant apartments to the south as well as vacant parcels throughout the station area. The central station area has governmental service destinations such as the St. Johns County Health Department at San Sebastian View, and St. Johns County Government buildings on the northern end of the station area. MAJOR CORRIDORS & CONNECTIONS The FEC rail corridor travels north-south through the station area, crossing San Sebastian View at-grade. US 1 is the main north-south roadway connection through the station area parallel to the FEC rail corridor. The highway is a four-lane divided highway with only a few east-west road connections through the station area. The most significant east-west roadway connection is the San Sebastian View, which is a four-lane divided roadway that reduces to a two-lane undivided street to the north where there are government offices. TRANSIT There are three Sunshine Bus Company transit routes that operate through the station area, including the Red Line, Teal Line, and the Connector. All three routes operate along US 1 and San Sebastian View. There is a bus stop located just north of the station area north of Lewis Speedway at the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office and County Jail.
Sidewalks are not provided on either side of US 1 within the station area. Sidewalks are located on the southbound side of US 1 where there are apartments. Sidewalks are also provided on both sides of San Sebastian View where there is access to various government facilities. BIKE LANES & REGIONAL TRAILS Bike lanes are only located along San Sebastian View, which is where the FEC railway crosses at-grade. OPPORTUNITIES FOR CONNECTIVITY This station location does offer connections to critical government services. US 1 offers a major north-south route for regional connectivity, however there is a lack of east-west connectivity throughout the entire station area. San Sebastian View does provide multimodal connectivity close to the potential station location where the FEC rail corridor crosses at-grade. While there is transit connectivity to the government center north of the FEC rail crossing, there is significant bike and pedestrian infrastructure needed to provide additional multimodal options, as well as surface parking area for drivers accessing the station area that would be needed for this potential origin station area.
