keep the inside of your car comfortable. Remember, you can’t control the traffic, but you can control your reaction.

It’s a scenario most of us have experienced: You’re enjoying a drive, singing along to your favorite song, when suddenly, another driver starts tailgating and aggressively cuts you off. What can you do in these situations? PRIORITIZE YOUR SAFETY First and foremost, ensure your safety. Keep your doors locked and maintain enough space between your car and the one ahead to allow room to maneuver in an emergency, especially if you’re stuck in traffic. Avoid engaging with or competing against aggressive drivers, and never exit your vehicle to confront someone on the road. If an aggressive driver escalates the situation, do not hesitate to call 911 immediately. MINIMIZE YOUR STRESS Even when provoked by another driver, try to stay calm. Make sure you’ve allowed plenty of time for your journey to avoid rushing and

DRIVE COURTEOUSLY Maintain safety on the roads by being a courteous driver. If you make a mistake, apologize to other drivers and keep calm. Don’t take traffic problems personally, avoid eye contact with aggressive drivers, and refrain from any hostile gestures. Signal your intentions clearly, use your horn sparingly, and keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. UNDERSTAND THE LAW In Georgia, aggressive driving is legally defined as operating a vehicle with the intent to harass, annoy, intimidate, injure, or obstruct another person. Such behavior must be deliberate and targeted at an individual.

Stay safe on the roads, and remember, if you ever need assistance or legal representation, the Yeargan & Kert LLC team is here to support you.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), about 25% of children who lost their lives in motor vehicle accidents in 2022 were a result of drunk driving. In Georgia, the presence of a child in a vehicle during a DUI arrest significantly increases the severity of the situation. If a driver is charged with driving under the influence and there is a child under the age of 14 in the vehicle, they may also face charges of child endangerment. It is crucial to understand that child endangerment is a distinct and separate offense from DUI. This means that even if a driver pleads guilty to DUI, any child endangerment charges will still stand independently and will not be dismissed as part of the DUI plea. According to the Georgia Department of Driver’s Services, each child in the vehicle under the specified age leads to an individual endangerment charge against the driver. Penalties for DUI charges with additional child endangerment charges can be severe. They include a fine of up to $1,000, extensive probation, mandatory attendance at a DUI risk reduction school, community service, alcohol and drug counseling, and possibly up to one year in jail. More severe penalties, including longer prison sentences, may apply for repeat offenses or particularly serious cases. If you or someone you know is facing these serious charges, you don’t have to navigate the legal system alone. At Yeargan & Kert, our experienced DUI attorneys can provide expert guidance and defense. We can explore various strategies, such as contesting the legality of the traffic stop, challenging the accuracy of blood or breath tests, or questioning how evidence was handled. Rejuvenate Your Routine With 4 Spring Wellness Changes Essential Strategies for Dealing With Aggressive Driving Behavior Understanding DUI and Child Endangerment Charges in Georgia Grilled Red Curry Beef Satay With Peanut Sauce Explore the Historic Fortifications of the Highlands

From the heights of Castle Hill to the idyllic waters of Loch Duich, the historic castles of Scotland stun tourists and history enthusiasts alike. Today, these castles are well-maintained and ready to receive visitors from around the world. If you want to explore the beauty of the highlands from the rocky ramparts of Scotland’s greatest castles, these are three landmarks you need to visit. EDINBURGH CASTLE Located amidst Edinburgh’s Old Town — a World Heritage Site — the daunting and long-standing Edinburgh Castle on Castle Hill is a bulwark that has defended the Scottish capital for nearly a millennium. The military still uses parts of the formidable ramparts, but the rest serves as a can’t-miss tourist destination. The castle also houses the Crown Jewels of Scotland, known as the Honours, and famed cannons, like Mons Meg, one of the grandest pieces of medieval artillery ever constructed and given to King James II in 1457 A.D. DUNNOTTAR CASTLE Dunnottar Castle is located on the northeastern coast of Scotland and is surrounded on three sides by the waters of the North Sea. There is DEFENDING THE HIGHLANDS SCOTLAND’S MUST-SEE CASTLES

evidence that ancient Picts lived in the area long before a monastery was consecrated on the grounds in 1276 A.D. In 1392, Sir William Keith seized the holy site’s strategic location by building its first stone fortification, The Keep. An even more unorthodox move came in 1593, when George Keith, the 5th Earl Marischal, built The Lion’s Den at Dunnottar Castle to house his pet lion. EILEAN DONAN CASTLE There is a reason Eilean Donan Castle is one of the most photographed castles in the world! Situated on a tiny island at the mouth of Loch Duich, this formidable fortress began as a monastery in 634 A.D. before being converted to a fortress in the 12th century to protect the area from Viking raids. Now administered by the Conchra Charitable Trust, this castle houses rare artifacts, such as a sword rumored to be from the famed battle of Culloden in 1745.
