Unity, Joy, Love, and Reflection — 2 Reasons to Celebrate!
Ten years spans over 3,652 days — wow! That’s how long Wolf Retirement Navigation has been in business. Speaking of celebrating 10 years together, invitations have already been mailed for our once-in-a-lifetime anniversary event on Thursday, May 16, 2024, and the RSVPs are flowing in. That is undoubtedly a great reason to celebrate! But what exactly is a celebration? Celebrating fosters many purposes and emotions. UNITY AND CONNECTION Celebrations bring people together. Whether it’s a family gathering, a cultural festival, or a national holiday, they create a sense of unity. People connect, share stories, and form lasting memories. ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND GRATITUDE Celebrations allow us to recognize achievements, milestones, and blessings and express gratitude for life, love, friendships, and opportunities. EXPRESSION OF JOY Joy is at the heart of celebrations, and, boy, do we have an epic party planned for all of us this month! Celebrations are an outlet for pure joy, whether dancing at a wedding, lighting fireworks later this year on the Fourth of July, or singing carols during the holiday season. REFLECTION AND ANTICIPATION Celebrations prompt reflection. Here at Wolf Retirement, we are looking back at the past year and the past 10 years — our achievements, highs, lows, and lessons
learned. Simultaneously, we anticipate the future with hope and excitement. COMMUNITY BONDING Celebrations strengthen bonds within communities. From neighborhood block parties to religious gatherings, they foster a sense of belonging and shared identity. For those who know us mostly through social media, webinars, and weekly emails, now is the time to join us in person! Come to our 10th anniversary celebration and partake in all the planned festivities! May is also the month we celebrate the dedication and love of our moms and those who have assumed a motherly role in our lives. Motherhood is heartwarming, commemorative, and memorable, and in essence, our moms all embody many qualities and roles. CAREGIVER Moms nurture, protect, and tend to their children’s physical and emotional needs. She’s always there for comfort and protection through good times and bad. GUIDE AND COUNSELOR Our moms are like our north stars — they guide us and impart wisdom, values, and life lessons. Their counsel shapes our character and helps us navigate life’s complexities. COMFORTER A mother’s comforting embrace provides reassurance and comfort when the world feels overwhelming. She wipes away tears, soothes fears, and offers unconditional support.
ROLE MODEL Moms lead by example. Their actions, choices, and resilience inspire us. They model compassion, love, and strength. MEMORY KEEPER Moms preserve all of our cherished family traditions, stories, and memories. They are quite literally the glue that holds us together! CELEBRATOR OF MILESTONES From first steps to graduations, a mother celebrates her children’s achievements. From the sidelines, she cheers us on and shares in our joy and victories. LISTENER A mother’s attentive ear absorbs all of our worries, dreams, and secrets. She listens without judgment, offering us a safe space. UNCONDITIONAL LOVE Above all, a mother’s love knows no bounds. It transcends imperfections, endures hardships, and remains constant. As we celebrate this monumental milestone for Wolf Retirement Navigation and our mothers on Mother’s Day, remember that the true magic of celebrations lies not just in the external festivities but in the emotions they evoke — the laughter, tears, and shared moments that make life richer. So, this month in particular, let’s celebrate life, love, and all that brings us joy!

THE NEXT WAVE OF ROBOTIC TECH IS HERE!
Since the ‘70s, household robots have been an American fantasy. Engineers have been tirelessly working and building machines to automate everyday tasks with limited success — until recently. The success of the Roomba kicked off an explosion in consumer robotics, while developments in AI make them brighter than ever. Here are four new robots built to make life that much easier. AMAZON ASTRO: The Astro is Amazon’s first foray into consumer robotics. Designed to work with the Ring system, its primary directive is defending the home. It has a powerful scanner to detect any threats, whether burglars or gas leaks, and it alerts you while recording it on the Ring app. And it’s capable of much more than just that: It can check your blood pressure, charge phones, and more. Unfortunately, the Astro is expensive, coming in at around $1,599. ORO: Ever wish you could play with your dog anytime, anywhere? The ORo might be just what you’re looking for. It plays fetch and records anything unusual with your dog’s behavior. While you’re away, you can also video chat with your pups in an interactive setting. The ORo hasn’t been released yet, but it’s projected to cost around $800.
MOXIE: This friendly blue robot is built to teach young children from ages 5–10. It has an expressive human-like face, ensuring children feel comfortable. Moxie teaches all sorts of skills, from problem-solving to regulating emotion. It also has plenty of game options to keep kids entertained. Moxie costs $799, but it can be purchased refurbished.
MATIC: The floor-cleaning Matic takes the old Roomba to the next level. It not only vacuums; it mops and cleans spills, too. The Matic has intelligent pathfinding, allowing it to avoid obstacles, including toys and feet. Once the bag fills up, it automatically parks next to the trashcan. This premium robot comes at a premium price of around $1,795. Companies are working hard to create the newest wave of advanced robotics. So, if you’re interested in awe-inspiring automatons, you have plenty to be thrilled about.
Maximize Your Tax Refund Top 5 Smart Financial Moves
to the meager $17 from a typical savings account at 0.57% yield. Over five years, the difference in earnings can be huge! INVEST IN AN IRA Although the deadline for the previous year has passed, you can still invest your refund in an IRA for the current tax year. This enhances your retirement savings and may reduce your taxable income. It’s a great way to prepare for the future if you’re already managing debts and have an emergency fund. PAY DOWN DEBT With the average credit card APR at 20.75%, using your refund to reduce high-interest debt is a financially sound decision. For example, making minimum payments on credit card bills could extend your payoff period and cost thousands in interest. Allocating your refund toward this debt can save money and shorten the debt cycle. SAVE FOR FUTURE GOALS If your emergency fund is adequate and you’ve managed your debt, consider using your refund to save for future goals. Whether
a down payment on a home, funding a wedding, or planning a vacation, placing money in a high-yield savings account can help you achieve these goals. Over time, without the pressure of immediate financial needs, this can significantly help you reach your long-term dreams.
BEGIN OR ENHANCE YOUR INVESTMENT PORTFOLIO
Investing your tax refund can be a smart way to build wealth, especially for long-term goals like retirement. Starting with mutual funds or exchange-traded funds (ETFs) is an effective way to gain diversified exposure without needing to select individual stocks or bonds. Remember, the right choice depends on your personal financial situation and goals. Prioritize according to your most pressing financial needs, whether securing a safety net, reducing debt, or investing in your future. This strategic approach ensures your tax refund effectively improves your financial health. Contact us at 904-232-8760 if you have specific questions.
Receiving a tax refund offers a prime opportunity to improve and fortify your financial health. Here are five savvy strategies to make the most of this significant windfall. ENHANCE YOUR EMERGENCY FUND The importance of starting or boosting an emergency fund cannot be overstated. Despite fewer than 40% of Americans being able to cover an unexpected $1,000 expense from savings, setting aside your refund can provide a much-needed safety net. For example, placing $3,000 in a high-yield savings account at a 4% annual yield nets approximately $120 after one year, compared

SPIRIT, MIND, AND BODY Cynthia’s 3 Pillars of a Fulfilling Life
Spirit, mind, and body — that’s Cynthia’s motto. “That’s my lifestyle, that’s me,” Cynthia says. Cynthia moved to Jacksonville from New York two years ago, following a job transfer. A mother of two daughters and grandmother to two granddaughters, she thrives on staying active, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors. Her relationship with Adam and Wolf Retirement Navigation began in 2014 after he handled her tax filings, and the rest is history! She focuses on her spirit, mind, and body with everything she does. To nourish her spirit, she attends church daily and serves as a lector. To stimulate her mind, she keeps intellectually engaged. She’s an avid reader; works part time at her local main library; volunteers with AARP; and is active in Toastmasters, a global organization that
helps people improve their communication and leadership skills. For her physical well- being, she prioritizes nutrition and fitness. Cynthia is a member of the YMCA and regularly participates in various fitness classes, sometimes starting as early as 5:30 a.m.! Cynthia is also a caregiver for one of her granddaughters, which keeps her heart and body active and happy! It’s impressive to hear just how much Cynthia squeezes into a day. But for her, it’s the norm. “It’s just spirit, mind, and body — I live and breathe it,” she tells us. “When I retired in 2017, this is when my approach to life really took off. I was able to do things in my own time.” Cynthia urges everyone to find things they are passionate about and learn to prioritize them. “I prioritize my spirit, which keeps me going day in and day out.
For my mind, I’m an optimistic person. There’s always something that can be done to change a situation; you just have to put your mind to it. For body, it’s about not letting something physically hold me back,” she says. Cynthia’s outlook on life is contagious. She encourages everyone she meets to do their best and believes that if we make up our minds and set out to accomplish something with a positive heart, we can accomplish anything!

Defending the Highlands Scotland’s Must-See Castles
EDINBURGH CASTLE Located amidst Edinburgh’s Old Town — a World Heritage Site — the daunting and long-standing Edinburgh Castle on Castle Hill is a bulwark that has defended the Scottish capital for nearly a millennium. The military still uses parts of the formidable ramparts, but the rest serves as a can’t-miss tourist destination. The castle also houses the Crown Jewels of Scotland, known as the Honours, and famed cannons, like Mons Meg, one of the grandest pieces of medieval artillery ever constructed and given to King James II in 1457 A.D.
monastery was consecrated on the grounds in 1276 A.D. In 1392, Sir William Keith seized the holy site’s strategic location by building its first stone fortification, The Keep. An even more unorthodox move came in 1593, when George Keith, the 5th Earl Marischal, built The Lion’s Den at Dunnottar Castle to house his pet lion. EILEAN DONAN CASTLE There is a reason Eilean Donan Castle is one of the most photographed castles in the world! Situated on a tiny island at the mouth of Loch Duich, this formidable fortress began as a monastery in 634 A.D. before being converted to a fortress in the 12th century to protect the area from Viking raids. Now administered by the Conchra Charitable Trust, this castle houses rare artifacts, such as a sword rumored to be from the famed battle of Culloden in 1745.
From the heights of Castle Hill to the idyllic waters of Loch Duich, the historic castles of Scotland stun tourists and history enthusiasts alike. Today, these castles are well-maintained and ready to receive visitors from around the world. If you want to explore the beauty of the highlands from the rocky ramparts of Scotland’s greatest castles, these are three landmarks you need to visit.
DUNNOTTAR CASTLE Dunnottar Castle is located on the
northeastern coast of Scotland and is surrounded on three sides by the waters of the North Sea. There is evidence that ancient Picts lived in the area long before a
