darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 14:6; 10:9; 8:12). How we can thank God for the Psalmist’s penetration into the inner most recesses of every human heart, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit! Let the searchlight of God’s Word reveal any area of our lives which would be displeasing to the eternal God. May we see, each one, our very real needs and seek the power available through Christ for complete and overcoming power. “Search me, 0 God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Psa. 139:23- 24). The darkened heart my mission field, My light the Saviour’s face. I’M FINE There’s nothing whatever the mat ter with me I’m just as healthy as I can be . I have arthritis in both my knees And when I talk, I talk with a wheeze. My pulse is weak, and my blood is thin, But I’m awfully well for the shape I’m in. Arch supports I have for my feet Or I wouldn’t be able to be on the street. Sleep is denied me, night after night, And every morning I'm a sight. My memory’s failing, my heart’s in a spin. I’m practically living on aspirin. But I’m awfully well for the shape I’m in. The Bible clearly predicts the end times shall be a period of certain destruction. “When they shall say, Peace and Safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them” (I Thess. 5:3). We can feel sorry for those who as they gaze upon their lives, have no real solid confidence regarding the future. They don’t know where they’re going. Praying this prayer, one is led to the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone could de clare : “I am the way, the truth, and the life; “. . . I am the door, by me if any man enter, he shall be saved; . . . I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in MY TASK I do not ask for mighty words To leave the crowd impressed, But grant my life may ring so true My neighbor will be blessed. I do not ask to win the great— God grant they may be saved! Give me the broken sinner, Lord, By Satan long-enslaved. Though words of wisdom and of power Rise easily to some, Give me a simple message, Lord, That bids the sinner come. A group of boys and girls may be My God-appointed task; Help me to lead each one to Thee— What greater could I ask? I do not ask for influence To sway the multitudes; Give me a “word in season” for The soul in solitude. I ask no place of prominence Where all the world can see, But in some needy corner, Lord There let me work for Thee. No task too great, no task too small, Sufficient is thy grace;
