constitutes a day and a night in Jewish disciplines. Any part of a day constituted an entire day according to the theory of those who hold to Friday Crucifixion. The Jewish day begins at 6:00. If Christ were cruci fied on Thursday, He would be in the grave Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night. The first day of the week, or the Lord’s day, was Sunday. He had come out of the grave prior to that time. There is a real indication that He might have been crucified on Wednesday or Thursday, but why make it such a consuming passion for our discus sions? People who get upset about which day of the week He died some times don’t seem to be particularly concerned about what day of the month He arose, so long as it’s Easter Sunday. Yet, it’s never the same day of the month, or of any two years, in succession. Let’s worship the Lord and believe fully in His crucifixion and resurrection instead of being so concerned about the time. The events are what matter. Q. Portland, Ore. — “Will you please explain the latter part of Romans 5:17 which says, ‘For i f by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abun dance of grace and of the g ift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.’ ’’ A. This is a most remarkable pas sage. Paul has been showing, through the Spirit of God, that all of the world is in condemnation. Yet the Lord has made a provision through 23

Q. Walla Walla, Wash. .— "Did Moses’ family enter the promised land? I know he didn’t, but what about his children?” A. In Numbers 14:22-23 we read some very interesting words about how displeased the Lord was with the children of Israel. He declared, “Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that pro voked me see it.” Only Caleb and Joshua, who brought back a favor able report, would go over to the promised land. Verse 29 states, “Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me.” We know from Exodus 2:21-22 that Moses had a son of Zipporah, “And she bare him a son.” Late, apparently Zipporah had died, and Moses mar ried an Ethiopian woman (Numbers 12:1). Whether she had any children by him is not known either. So, we do not know whether any of the children of Moses ever entered the promised land. Q. Portland, Ore. — " Was Christ cru cified on Thursday or Friday? How can we account for the three days and nights spoken of in Matthew 12:40? Does it really matter?" A. That last statement is really the key. We don’t believe that it really does. The fact that our Lord was cru cified is the important key! The ques tion really revolves around just what
