City of Lewiston Winter 2023 Magazine & Program Guide

MAYOR'S MESSAGE Dear Residents of Lewiston, As we enter the winter season, the colder half of the year, I'm reminded of the strength and resilience that defines us as a community. This season brings us not only colder temperatures, and snow, but also a sign of continued progress and future growth in our city. I am delighted to introduce a pivotal addition to our community - the Community Resources Officer. Starting November 13th, this dedicated individual will serve as the guardian of compliance, ensuring our city's health, safety codes, and ordinances are upheld to the highest standard. This shift, placing code enforcement under the Community Development Department, marks a bold stride towards an even more engaged and informed citizenry. Our new Community Resources Officer is not only well-versed in city codes and laws but also deeply committed to educating our community. From site triangles to weed compliance and beautification, their expertise will empower residents with valuable knowledge. This officer's proactive approach will address a wide range of concerns, from zoning issues to nuisance complaints. Their exceptional commitment to customer service will undoubtedly enhance the experience of our valued residents, and assist with positive enforcement of these important issues. Above all, our Community Resources Officer will be a true Community Champion. Serving as a bridge between government agencies, community members, and stakeholders, they will tirelessly work towards stable improvements in our quality of life and neighborhoods. I am genuinely excited about the positive impact this new position will have on our city. Together, we will forge ahead, creating a safer, more harmonious Lewiston for all. In addition to this exciting change, we are actively pursuing new businesses that will further enrich our community. Your contributions continue to make Lewiston a remarkable place, and I'm eager to share more good news with you in the near future. With warm regards,

- Daniel Johnson
