CIPP SURVEY - FURTHER CONSULTATION ON EQUAL PAY AUDITS

20 June 2013

The CIPP Policy Team has produced a survey based on this consultation and would really appreciate it if you could spare around 20 minutes to share your opinions.

In June 2012 the government published its response to the Modern Workplaces: Equal Pay consultation. In that response the Government Equalities Office (GEO) gave an assurance that they would consult further on the details of equal pay audits and on the contents of further regulations. As a result GEO has now issued a further consultation providing the opportunity to help shape the legislation intended for introduction in 2014.

The CIPP policy team has produced a survey based on this consultation and would really appreciate it if you could spare around 20 minutes to share your opinions.

Although, hopefully, very few of you will need to input into an equal pay audit, if an Employment Tribunal does order your employer to undertake such an audit, it is likely that the payroll department will be the source of most of the information. For that reason, it is crucial that payroll professionals provide their views and comments into this consultation.

To allow you plenty of time to complete this survey it will remain open until midnight on 12 July.

Thank you.

CIPP RESPONSE TO THE FURTHER CONSULTATION ON EQUAL PAY AUDITS

17 July 2013

The CIPP has today responded to the Government Equalities Office’s further consultation on equal pay audits.

The CIPP’s Policy and Research Team would like to thank all those members who managed to find time out of their busy schedules to complete the recent survey.

In general members were in agreement with the proposals contained in the consultation document, responding that the guidance was suitable and that the legislation is likely to encourage more employers to settle equal pay claims.
