Bill Litton, Director of the Osceola County Office of Emergency Management, has seen firsthand how a proactive approach to emergency preparedness and community collaboration has helped shape Osceola County’s resilience. “We are constantly growing and evolving,” Litton explains. “That means our approach to emergency management has to grow and evolve as well.” The Balance Between Growth and Preparedness Osceola County’s rapid development brings new opportunities, but it also presents challenges—especially when it comes to emergency preparedness. The county’s thriving tourism industry adds an extra layer of responsibility, as officials must plan for both residents and millions of visitors. “We have a large tourism base,” says Litton.
