Adelman & Adelman July 2019 954-341-2777 Battle Tested In Court Florida Bar Certification — and What That Means for You! One Goal... Justice July 2019

I n March, I flew out to Tampa to take an exam held by There was a lot of work leading up to this exam. The Bar vets every candidate and reaches out to people you know, such as friends, professional associates, and attorneys you have tried jury trials against. The committee asks a series of questions about your character, ethics, and competency as a civil trial attorney. If you pass this background exam, you are then invited to take the certification exam. I’m proud of this accomplishment, and it also means that every time a client hires us, the defense will know and can verify that we are battle tested. The Florida Bar. This test was to earn my Civil Trial Law Certification. I’m thrilled to share that at the end of May, I received a letter from The Florida Bar informing me that I had passed and earned certification. Board-certified lawyers have met The Florida Bar’s highest standards for special knowledge, skills, and proficiency in various areas of professionalism and ethics in the practice of law. Only 7% of Florida Bar members have earned board certification in one or more of the 27 specialty areas. Less than 0.5% of all Florida Bar attorneys are board-certified in civil trial! Following the passing of the exam, Florida lawyers are allowed to refer to themselves as board-certified specialists and use the letters B.C.S. in their legal credentials. Here are a few more details about what it means to be board- certified by The Florida Bar.

If you have any questions about this certification, I’m more than happy to answer them. This is a huge milestone for me and the firm, and I’m looking forward to continuing the good fight for our clients with this added distinction. The certification sends a message to insurance companies and defense attorneys that if they are not fair

with our clients, we have the track record to show we will hold them accountable at trial.

I hope you are having a good summer! Stay safe and stay cool.

The “Board-Certified” logo lets clients know they’re in good hands and working with an attorney who practices to the highest standards.
