Employer Bulletin: February 2018 16 February 2018
The latest Employer Bulletin is now available; a bi-monthly publication which provides employers and agents with the latest information on payroll topics.
This newsletter from HMRC is always worth reading thoroughly as it is easy to miss something which may affect a new process or legislative change.
Simplifying PAYE Settlement Agreements Amongst many other things, the Bulletin highlights that P626s will be delayed for the tax year 2018 to 2019 until April 2018 to allow for the outcome of the consultation ’ Simplifying PAYE Settlement Agreements ’ to be considered. This closes 21 February – any comments can be sent to use at policy and we will submit them to HMRC on your behalf. Termination payments There are new rules to become familiar with for termination payments made on, or after 6 April 2018. This includes a new term ‘post-employment notice pay’ (PENP) represents the amount of basic pay the employee will not receive because their employment was terminated without full, or proper notice being given and is taxable as general earnings from 6 April (subject to parliamentary approval).
The Employer Bulletin: February 2018 is a bumper edition with articles on:
