Statutory payments: Small Employers Relief threshold and recovery rates 18 December 2017
The Small Employers Relief threshold (£45,000) and recovery rate (3%) should remain unchanged for 2018-19, as will the standard recovery rate (92%).
Our news item at the end of November detailed the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) proposed statutory rates which will apply from April 2018.
In summary, the rate for Statutory Maternity Pay, Statutory Paternity Pay, Statutory Adoption Pay and Statutory Shared Parental Pay will be £145.18 and the Statutory Sick Pay weekly rate will be £92.05.
HMRC’s Software Developers Support Team (SDST) informed us that the Small Employers Relief threshold (£45,000) and recovery rate (3%) remain unchanged for 2018-19, as does the standard recovery rate (92%).
These figures are all still subject to parliamentary approval.

Reformed SSP system to support more flexible working 12 January 2018
The government has published a paper on its plans to see one million more disabled people in work over the next ten years. The paper includes the government’s vision to see a reformed Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) system which supports more flexible working. Background In the Green Paper ‘ Improving Lives: the Work, Health and Disability ’, published in October 2016, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Department for Health set out the case for change and their vision :
