HMRC has issued a briefing for agents regarding some errors in the Self Assessment tax calculator 2016/17. Changes to address these errors are planned for October 2017.
The briefing explains what the issues are, the action being taken to correct errors and what to do if this affects you and your clients.

Submission of Self Assessment Returns affected by Exclusions 1 August 2017
HMRC is holding a Talking Points online meeting on 7 August to discuss 2016-17 SA Return online submission issues and the resulting exclusions.
HMRC will explain the process for waiving the 31st October deadline and allowing paper Returns submissions.

Agent update 61 10 August 2017
HMRC has published the latest Agent Update which details guidance, developments and changes to legislation relating to UK tax.
Agent Update 61 contains a reminder that if you give advice or services about tax or finance relating to offshore income or assets, you may be required, under regulations, to send your client a Client Notification Letter by 31 August 2017.
